Weekend beginning Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Friday afternoon my wife and I left for Winnemucca to attend a Candidate debate event.  About 24 candidates attended who were running for offices from School Board, County Commission, State Assembly, and Governor to United States Senate.  My debate turned out to be a question and answer presentation, since no other U.S. Senate candidates were in attendance.  Sharron Angle originally had scheduled for this debate forum but cancelled for unknown reasons.  I received the final letter of denial, for Candidate Bulk Mail rate, in my Senate Candidate P.O. box from the U. S. Postal Service.  Apparently, I am not a partisan committee as required by law.  I wonder why the Democrat and Republican parties in congress write special rules for themselves?  Saturday evening my unpaid staff and I viewed an educational course on the mathematic results from using different voting methods.  It simply demonstrates that independence from the party systems is possible.  Monday I mingled and visited with local Elko County residents at the Kiwanis Club Community Buckaroo Breakfast.  Our weekend mileage has totaled 384.

Last Week - Weekend beginning Friday August 27th

I completed several questionnaires for several organizations and associations.  I also received, as I do constantly, an opportunity to participate in a general election guide that “will be distributed to local voters.”  Although organizations are excited about their guides to help voters maximize their awareness, the fee requested this time was $200.  “Gerhard Publishing” only accepts cash or checks made payable to them.  It is odd to me, for people or publishing companies to provide Non-Partisan, or unbiased, information and assistance to the voters, but only provide those candidates that pay them “cash or checks”?  It seems to be about money more than assistance to the voters.  As a rhetorical question, I ask ‘how the money in exchange for representation has been working in our country and state thus far’?

Saturday we, my wife and I, toured a few businesses in Elko to place a few signs and then traveled to Jackpot to place a few more signs.  I truly hope that the signs might circumvent the biased games that mainstream media has indulged in. Our trip totaled 288 miles this weekend.  With only 9 weeks left, I ask for your help in bringing forward truth by reading a few words (in blue and at the bottom of the page) at this link -  http://www.hollandforsenate.com/index.html

Previously

Friday August 20th weekend - We drove to Reno for a 3:00 PM taping for KNPB PBS Reno which should be aired in October.  We attended an interview with the Nevada Appeal at 4:30PM.  We jumped over to Winnemucca for our next day’s activities.  Saturday, we attended a Winnemucca Tea Party Patriots rally.  I spoke about breaking the party system and returning representation back to the state and the people.  Party over the people should not be accepted!  Have the parties hidden their track record and decades of abuse that well?  What ever happened to “we the people”?  I attended an evening meeting with some advocates against the Jungo Landfill.  I must say that these two days ended with fabulous response and renewed spirits of many.  Our round trip totaled 628 miles.

Week of August 9th through 15th I placed a bet on Las Vegas and I hope it pays off.  My wife and I took a week of vacation from our regular jobs to campaign in Las Vegas.  I attended a Government Services meet and greet, a social meeting at the Italian American club, a social at the Leatherneck club, a TV taping with the Pahrump Local News, a radio show with YBS radio, a radio show with Mike Wiley at KLAS, and several other impromptu meetings.  I talked with hundreds of people, passed out cards and flyers and placed more signs.  This trip was 1047 miles round trip.  Midnight came far too quickly each night.  I extend special thanks to the people of Las Vegas who also understand that the party system has hijacked the government of Nevada and the United States.

One of the most rewarding things I have completed lately was a tour of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.  You will find more information about this amazing organization at http://www.vegasrescue.org/  My wife and I drove into the gate, took a tour and added appreciation to our lives.  I better understand why the recidivism rate is lower in private organization when compared to bureaucratically managed monstrosities.  I entered the front gate, talked with a few individuals, received a tour from a man named John, ate lunch and was in awe for several hours.  I am overjoyed with this mission and know that God is straightforwardly involved.

Friday, August 6th weekend – Scheduling & more Scheduling took place for the upcoming Las Vegas campaign events.  More importantly, I gave my daughter in marriage and concentrated on her new life for the rest of the weekend.  My beautiful daughter became a wife in a gorgeous ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

Friday, July 30th weekend – Friday, I immersed myself in correspondence to include answers for donations, questionnaires and media air time purchases.  I, with the wonderful help of my wife, was able to schedule a few events; an interview in Pahrump with Alan Bigelow, an interview in Las Vegas with Mike Wiley, and a TV taping in Reno on the 20th (KNPB.)  I also have a short speaking engagement at the Winnemucca Tea Party Rally on August 21st at 10:00 AM in Pioneer Park.  I am not sure what time I speak, but it will be a joy to speak with people outside party robotics.  Well, next thing you know, Sunday night showed up as I finished signing a few letters.  Next week, I will be taking a few days off to celebrate my daughter’s wedding just before leaving for Las Vegas.

Friday, July 23rd weekend – A quick weekend of 682 miles to Reno and surrounding areas has come to a close.  I met with my Christian brother, Gino DiSimone who is running for Governor of Nevada.  I would trouble each of you to explore his website at http://www.ginoforgov.com  Gino’s goal is to restore the Constitution of our Republic and reclaim Nevada’s legal standings.  Gino is a grounded man after my own heart.  I can honestly, sincerely and humbly call him a brother in Christ.  While I was in Reno and the surrounding areas, I placed a few signs (Virginia City) and briefly attended an Indian Pow Wow.  I met Roger Varela, founder of Gold Star Families of Nevada, Inc.

As I travel to and fro, I have noticed that my campaign signs have been removed.  Of all possible locations to remove a sign, which is an illegal activity, my home town of Elko is my biggest problem.

As a side note of my trail, but an absolute necessity, please enjoy the truth of our Constitution regarding the honest and legal duties of a United States Senator at this link http://www.ginoforgovernor.com/images/state%20authority%20over%20us%20senators.pdf

Friday, July 16th weekend – My wife and I spent 7 solid hours completing questionnaires and correspondence.  That is a typical week’s worth of correspondence that must be done.  Some questionnaires are very user friendly and some are very frustrating.  Some on-line questionnaires have poorly set up forms, missing or bad links, questions that are incomplete, grammatically incorrect, or just plain illogical.  It is annoying that the authors of these questionnaires are supposedly concerned with educating the public about candidates and will be guiding voters or recommending candidates.  More misleading, confusing or ill prepared information is not what voters need.  We also scheduled some candidate events and then left for Pioche.  Our total mileage, 722 miles, round trip included stops in Panaca, Caliante and Carlin.

Upcoming Events – I will be in Las Vegas August 9th through 14th.  I will be participating in “Candidates Day”.  The event is open to the public and I invite you to come meet me and speak with me if you are in the area.

“Candidates Day” Wednesday August 11, 2010

Friday, July 9th weekend - I have concluded another busy weekend of campaigning, posting of signs, filling out questionnaires and talking with people.  I started my weekend with an interview for The Voice of Independence Radio Show with Frank MacKay and then worked attentively on a few national and state questionnaires.  I put 277 miles on my car dropping into Wendover to place a few campaign signs.  On the return trip to my home, I also placed a few signs along the way in several small towns to include a few more in Elko and Spring Creek.

Again, please, if you have not already, visit the “Window Campaign” tab and download a flyer for your window.

Friday, July 2nd weekend – Friday my wife and I caught up on some correspondence to citizens and organizations, and continued our pursuit of a non-profit bulk mail permit.  We found a T-shirt shop in Elko, Smirks at 1003 Idaho Street, which prints advertisements on cloth.  We purchased some lettering that was applied to some flashy fluorescent safety vests we can wear as we visit new places.  We tried them out on the way to and in Reno where we began campaigning on Saturday.  They were very effective!  Sunday we attended The Church www.thechurchatreno.com 1205 North McCarran Blvd.  The members were very friendly and invited us to their July 4th potluck fellowship luncheon where we were able to discuss politics with a few people.  Our trip this weekend was a total of 726 miles.

In summation of the weekend, if you are interested in reclaiming a voice for the people, then you may help me by spreading the word about my candidacy and determination to help you.

Friday, June 25th weekend – I was denied non-profit bulk mail status from the United States Postal Service because I applied as a Nonpartisan candidate.  The letter from the USPS stated, “Based on the evidence submitted, it is our determination that Jesse Holland United States Senate Candidate is not a state or national committee of a political party that is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the national or state level.”  I was under the assumption that nonpartisan was not “a party” by its very definition.  How would any candidate outside the party system be granted opportunities of bulk mailing?  I am able to appeal and will do so to prove that I indeed do run my day-to-day campaign activities.  The long and short of this situation came to an ironic end.  I used Standard Bulk mail rate for 2065 letters to churches in the state of Nevada.  The cost, including the application and permit fees, totaled twenty dollars more than it would have been to send the letters first class at forty four cents.  I purchased a stamp with my permit number on it and my wife and I stamped the letters and sent them Friday afternoon.  Now we will begin the appeal process with the USPS.

Friday, June 18th weekend – Our volunteer campaign staff put together a letter informing Nevada churches of their legal rights to voice truth in and around politics.  The silent church ought to again voice truth in their vote.  The letter was a big project, yielding thousands of recipients and should be mailed shortly.  I believe we finally wrapped up the printing, stuffing, licking and sticking shortly after midnight on Saturday.  Sunday we attended a quality sermon on the need of our families to appreciate quality fathers and once again teach our sons to be moral and secure fathers when they have families of their own.  The concept of quality fathers is not accepted in Hollywood as your TV shows, movies, commercials and general media portray ‘fathers’ as klutzy, clueless and incompetent family figures.

Friday, June 11th weekend – A few extra days of vacation allowed my wife and I to take care of some personal business, visit our parents and continue to paint our house.  We have the wonderful satisfaction of having paid off our home last month, which makes the general maintenance and tender loving care even more gratifying.

The Primary Election has closed and the candidates have been chosen for the General Election in November.  We are looking forward to continuing to visit towns and cities throughout Nevada, distributing information about my candidacy and putting up more campaign signs.  I am anticipating more meet the candidate events, forums and debates from now until October.  I must alert each reader to the simple factual notion that I am a candidate to vote for and not a candidate to vote against as the two big parties would have you believe.  How much more of the big party systems are you willing to accept?  They (both parties) are passing regulations that will alter every aspect of your life.  Had enough yet?  Put your voice back into representation.

The hustle and bustle of the weekend before the Primary Election is upon us.  My cell phone has been constantly ringing with blast phone messages from all the “top” candidates for United States Senate in Nevada.  I guess they haven’t concluded that I am a United States Senate Candidate myself.  Even our local politicians got in on the action as they called to endorse their favorite candidate.  Money is flowing everywhere with a complete bombardment of last minute sales pitches with promises and personal attacks on their opponents.  If you have a radio, or TV or phone, or cell phone you can’t get away from the hype.  Is this what America has come to?  One candidate honestly asked what career politicians and convenient conservatives have in common as an attack on her opponent.  Ironically, she is both a career politician and a convenient conservative.  Whose add was it really?  Their history, regardless the candidate, is proof enough of their position.  I am beyond insulted that one local politician actually is endorsing a candidate that is supposedly under investigation by the FEC.  Why?  Are the politicians above the law?  Enough…  Please stop giving law breakers your wallet and life.  By the way, I already retain a spot on the ballot come this November 2010 without the necessity to slander, insult, and ridicule or smear another human being.  Please do what is right and make your vote count by being informed.  Entertain research and dig deeper than the propaganda!

Friday, May 28th weekend – Most importantly, this weekend was a time of reflection, thanks and honor for the people throughout the history of the United States who have fought for the freedom that I enjoy.  I cannot fathom the lose, sacrifice or dedication that so many families, communities and whole generations have given to allow me to live in the most free, civilized, stable and comfortable country on the planet.  The United States, even in its struggles, lack, and confusion is the most revered and sought after vision of freedom and safety in the world.

I reviewed and researched the local candidates for University Board of Regents, State Board of Education, County Sheriff, School Board of Trustees District 1, District 6 and District 7 and Elko TV Board for early voting.  I added pages to the website.  Take a minute and view the Publicity and Fees page and the additions to the Correspondence page.

There are several candidate pledges being circulated and signed.  I have been researching them and though they have good intensions, some of them are short sighted and restrict the necessary range to allow new or revised terms of operation.  The Americans for Tax Reform is an example of a pledge that binds representatives within existing systems.  To make equitable taxes for all United States citizens, a new or revised system must be created and established.  Just trying to fix a broken and flawed system will not enable the United States or its citizens to escape the financial burden inherent within the current tax system.

Friday, May 21st weekend – Actually this weekend began a day early.  My wife and I took a day of vacation to allow us to attend the Smoky Valley area “Candidates Night” forum Thursday evening at 6:00 at the Simpson Center in Hadley/Round Mountain.  Candidates for Nye County, including recorder, treasurer and sheriff were there as well as Mr. Bill Parsons, one of the Republican candidates for United States Senate and Mr. Gino DiSimone www.GinoForGov.com , a nonpartisan candidate for Governor.

I am extremely impressed with Mr. DiSimone and urge you to review his website and meet him personally if possible.  Likewise I entreat you to review, Mr. Scott Cobel, a candidate for Nye County Sheriff http://www.pahrumpvalleytimes.com/2010/May-19-Wed-2010/news/35972783.html  Both Mr. DiSimone and Mr. Cobel are born again Christians, just like me!

We heard from a Round Mountain resident that this is the first event of this kind.  He and I hope that there are many more election informational events to come and that, residents state and nation wide, attend them.  We traveled a total of 611 miles round trip.

Friday, May 14th weekend, my wife and I made the long trek to Las Vegas, a 905 mile round trip, to tape a campaign introduction for a PBS Candidate Special.  The program, “Election 2010: U.S. Senate Candidates Speak”, will be broadcast Thursday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m.  The program will be aired through the Las Vegas PBS channel and the Reno PBS channel 5.  I hope the air time allows people to view, consider with honesty and choose the best candidate to represent them with the issues that impact their lives.

Friday, May 7th weekend - part of my volunteer campaign staff and I traveled to Reno for a Friday 9:00 a.m. “Meet the Candidate” event hosted by the Washoe County Senior Services.  I visited with many people who attended the function and gained more valuable information about how government influences Nevada citizen’s lives.  Afterward we distributed my candidate information to individuals and churches and posted some campaign signs in Reno and Sparks.  Our trip totaled 668 miles.  We drafted several reply letters while traveling and completed the correspondence from home.

Friday, April 30th weekend - My wife and I installed some campaign signs and distributed candidate information around Elko.  We met a local candidate for Nevada Assembly District 33, Dale Andrus (www.andrus4assembly.com) and discussed local and national government issues with him.  We continued our correspondence with citizens and organizations and scheduled some events to meet citizens around the state.

Friday, April 23rd weekend - we (my wife and I) traveled a total of 630 miles to visit the cities of Austin and Fallon.  While in Austin, we disseminated campaign information and lunched at the International Café and Bar. Gail made homemade fries and a tremendous Ruben sandwich.  Jan visited with us about the origin of the Café and Bar and business in Austin.  We continued on to Fallon and met Dave, at the America’s Best Value Inn & Suites, who conversed with us about immigration, the economy and small business challenges.  We distributed campaign information to some residences, businesses and churches.  Several business owners took time to discuss, with us, their views on political current events and offered to distribute more campaign information to others they know in Fallon.

Friday, April 16th weekend – We replied to several organizations’ and citizens’ inquiries scheduled a few interviews and up coming events and ordered some campaign signs.  Saturday we headed for Winnemucca to hand out flyers describing my foundational principles, business cards and photo flyers to churches, businesses and citizens.  While at Winnemucca Christian Fellowship we met Rodger and Darlene who were looking for a church to attend Sunday morning before continuing their return home to Seattle.  We had a long and enlightening conversation, with them, about citizens’ personal responsibility to the United States and how that responsibility has been disregarded. We also met Cherese, a member of the church.  She and her sons discussed, with us, the privilege of voting, why citizens become frustrated with the increasing and unnecessary confusion of laws and government, and the simple fact that corruption and evil will prevail for as long as citizens quietly capitulate.  Cherese is a licensed Aesthetician and owns Bella Vita Skin Care.  We briefly met Pastor Mark and then continued our dissemination of information about my candidacy before returning to Elko.  It was a round trip of 294 miles and we put a few miles on our feet as well.

Friday, April 9th weekend– We drafted and posted some correspondence to citizens and organizations and then Saturday ventured 200 miles round trip to Mountain City.  We visited with Rex and Becky Goff, owners of Mountain City Motel, Restaurant & Bar, discussing many topics ranging from the economy of Mountain City to U.S. military force in other countries.  On the way home we stopped in at the Lone Mountain Station for some lunch and visited with Diana Bunitsky.  Victor and Diana Bunitsky own and operate the station and both have had many years experience with political systems.  Diana also touched on topics relevant to business owners, citizens’ rights, and the current political environment

April 2nd weekend - We took some personal time and celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We also scheduled some Candidate press time with media in May.

March 26th weekend - After finishing up campaign correspondence including rejections of over 16 requests for endorsements contingent upon payment to associations, foundations and/or organizations, we gladly replied to a handful of others that simply wanted information regarding our foundational principles which will be published for voters.  There are still a few organizations that care about your voice without requesting money.  We drove through snow to Ely and stayed in one of our favorite places, Steptoe Valley Inn Bed and Breakfast.  Saturday, after a delicious bit of breakfast, we distributed flyers and business cards to businesses, churches and people in Ely.  We headed for Eureka and distributed more flyers and business cards before taking a late lunch break at a favorite spot, The Pony Express Deli.  We met many people throughout the trip and were able to spend time visiting with several of them and discuss their hopes, expectations, unease, dissatisfaction and the possibilities that will come with the November election.  Our tour totaled 424 miles round trip.  As well, you will notice an addition to the navigation bar called “Window Campaign.”  Please click on the tab to your left to participate!

March 19th weekend – We traveled to Wells and Jackpot for a total of 279 miles roundtrip to distribute flyers and business cards and to visit with folks.  The following day we traveled to Wendover for a total of 259 miles roundtrip to distribute more flyers and more business cards.  We visited with several people we bumped into including Chester, who until recently worked and lived in Elko County.  Chester and I had a great discussion about politics, honesty and our country’s need for representation.

March 12th weekend – I just finished a video about an innovative and cost effective way for U.S. Senate representation to have communication with their constituents.  The video can be found on the “Links & Updates” tab to your left under NAAC.  I printed about 1000 doorhanger flyers and shoveled much snow…  I also turned down a request to participate in a candidate debate at the Valley Auto Mall in Henderson, Nevada.  The sponsors “are asking each candidate to contribute a minimum of $200 (due at the time of RSVP).”   I rejected the request by Joann Spair and Ruth B. White, Co-founders of a website and some other debate committees, with the reply “I care not to participate in what caused the many problems with our government – no cash equals no voice.  I hope that the other candidates can provide you the needed funds as they seem to have huge bags of silver to trade for publicity.  I do not have any silver to trade for truth.”  It is interesting that their website speaks of the candidates left out in the cold by our system, as their email speaks contrary?  I usually don’t list the silliness of emails and/or invitations on this update, but it speaks of the error of our system…  Think – Stand Up – Speak

March 5th weekend – I dropped into Carson City to file for candidacy with the office of the Nevada Secretary of State, by signing paperwork and giving them $500 cash.  The total round trip was 721 miles and we had great weather.  We passed out informational flyers in Reno and had lunch, a calzone, at Pirates Pizza on 180 West Peckham Lane #1100.  It was absolutely the best calzone I have ever eaten.  We stayed in Battle Mountain our last night of the trail and passed out information flyers there as well.  The trip concluded with knowledge that the name “Jesse Holland” will be on the ballot and that people from the beginning of the trip to the end were receptive to an alternative approach to our failing system.   - NonPartisan

Friday February 26th – I completed a video on campaign spending which is included on the “Links & Updates” tab directly to your left.  I held a campaign meeting with my small group of unpaid, Christian and most loving friends to determine our future exercises.  We prayed much and continue to seek guidance from God to keep us standing strong for Nevada and ultimately America.

February 19th weekend, I completed some personal security groundwork, researched the massive money owed by our grandchildren under the cloak of IOUs issued on our behalf by the United States Government, and worked conscientiously on my “Nevada Matters” webpage (which I hope to post very shortly.)  I also worked on campaign flyers and checked on some federal regulations.

February 12th, the Elko County Clerk alerted us of our success.  We have cleared the ‘250 signatures needed’ without problem.

I have scheduled an appointment in Carson City to sign the paperwork and hand over some cash (as required by law.)

I have been granted access to the ballot.  After my appointment with the Secretary of State in Carson City, my name will be issued to each county for the November 2010 election.  Please remember that the name “Jesse Holland” merely stands as the conduit for our forthcoming voice.

February 2, 2010, I received a letter from the State of Nevada Office of the Secretary of State.  This letter requests the Elko Country Clerk, 571 Idaho St. 3rd Floor, Elko Nevada to certify and conclude the results of the petition “no later than 5 p.m., on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

Again, I am predicting success with great hopes to “LET OUR VOICE BE HEARD.”

Just Waiting… I formally delivered the needed signatures and am waiting for a validating response from the State of Nevada giving us the ‘GREEN’ light to explode into full campaign mode.

We turned in 407 signatures for a completion of just over 160% of the required 250.  The validation process should begin in the very near future.  The signature verification is to be completed within 9 business days after the Elko County Clerk/Registrar receives notification from the Secretary of State to begin validation.  In my case, each signature must be from a ‘registered voter’ within Elko County.

I would like to thank each of you that signed the petition granting me access to the ballot this November 2010. WOW – possibly another choice!  I am predicting success and am currently exploring creative ways to “LET OUR VOICE BE HEARD.”

The weekend starting January 29th, we finished the last stage of the signature drive.  As I will not participate in a Party Primary, we are required by law to obtain signatures of registered voters to gain access to the Ballot this November.

We are planning to gather the signed documents and submit them to our local court house in Elko this coming weekend.  Then, the wait for verification begins…

Friday January 22nd, we conducted a follow-up Petition Signing Event at Khoury’s Market in Spring Creek Nevada from 8:00A.M. – 12:00 PM (Noon.)

This petition simply allows me access to the ballot.  Your signature does not change your affiliation or your support of a party or recognition by a party.

And… it was a success!

Saturday the 16th of January, we had a Petition Signing Event at the Shilo Inn in Elko Nevada at 12:30P.M. – 3:30P.M.  The event included an address from Jesse Holland and Questions with real Answers.  Although the event did not conclude with the needed number of signatures for access to the November ballot, the event was a success for interaction, comments and answers.

January 1st 2010 Weekend, we (my lovely wife and I) traveled 682.6 Miles from Spring Creek to Carson City.  We stopped and talked with many people along the way.  We handed out Senate business cards, flyers, door hangers and posted much information about this candidacy.

I enjoyed playing drums with the live band at the First Baptist Church in Fernley.  The church leaders and congregation were warm and receptive.  …and thanks for lunch Curtis Fulenwider!

I must say that TJ’s Pizza Shack makes a marvelous pizza.  Tee was receptive and gave me valuable information about people and politics.  It is good to hear from people that care about Nevada and our Nation.

Christmas weekend, I finished two more videos and posted them to YOUTUBE!  They are a must see and can be easily found by going to my “Links & Updates” navigation tab.
