Friday August 20th weekend - We drove
to Reno for a 3:00 PM taping for KNPB PBS Reno which should be aired in October. We attended an interview
with the Nevada Appeal at 4:30PM. We jumped over to Winnemucca for our next day’s activities.
Saturday, we attended a Winnemucca Tea Party Patriots rally. I spoke about breaking the party system
and returning representation back to the state and the people. Party over the people should not be accepted!
Have the parties hidden their track record and decades of abuse that well? What ever happened to
“we the people”? I attended an evening meeting with some advocates against the Jungo Landfill.
I must say that these two days ended with fabulous response and renewed spirits of many. Our round
trip totaled 628 miles.
Week of August 9th through 15th –
I placed a bet on Las Vegas and I hope it pays off. My wife and I took a week of vacation from
our regular jobs to campaign in Las Vegas. I attended a Government Services meet and greet, a social meeting
at the Italian American club, a social at the Leatherneck club, a TV taping with the Pahrump Local News, a radio show with
YBS radio, a radio show with Mike Wiley at KLAS, and several other impromptu meetings. I talked with hundreds
of people, passed out cards and flyers and placed more signs. This trip was 1047 miles round trip.
Midnight came far too quickly each night. I extend special thanks to the people of Las Vegas who
also understand that the party system has hijacked the government of Nevada and the United States.
One of the most rewarding things
I have completed lately was a tour of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. You will find more information about
this amazing organization at http://www.vegasrescue.org/ My wife and I drove into the gate, took a tour and added appreciation to our lives.
I better understand why the recidivism rate is lower in private organization when compared to bureaucratically managed
monstrosities. I entered the front gate, talked with a few individuals, received a tour from a man named
John, ate lunch and was in awe for several hours. I am overjoyed with this mission and know that God is
straightforwardly involved.
Friday, August 6th weekend – Scheduling & more Scheduling took place for the upcoming Las Vegas
campaign events. More importantly, I gave my daughter in marriage and concentrated on her new life for
the rest of the weekend. My beautiful daughter became a wife in a gorgeous ceremony on Saturday
afternoon.
Friday, July 30th weekend – Friday,
I immersed myself in correspondence to include answers for donations, questionnaires and media air time purchases.
I, with the wonderful help of my wife, was able to schedule a few events; an interview in Pahrump with Alan Bigelow,
an interview in Las Vegas with Mike Wiley, and a TV taping in Reno on the 20th (KNPB.) I also
have a short speaking engagement at the Winnemucca Tea Party Rally on August 21st at 10:00 AM in Pioneer Park.
I am not sure what time I speak, but it will be a joy to speak with people outside party robotics. Well,
next thing you know, Sunday night showed up as I finished signing a few letters. Next week, I will be taking
a few days off to celebrate my daughter’s wedding just before leaving for Las Vegas.
Friday, July 23rd
weekend – A quick weekend of 682 miles to Reno
and surrounding areas has come to a close. I met with my Christian brother, Gino DiSimone who is running
for Governor of Nevada. I would trouble each of you to explore his website at http://www.ginoforgov.com Gino’s goal is to restore the Constitution of our Republic and reclaim Nevada’s legal standings.
Gino is a grounded man after my own heart. I can honestly, sincerely and humbly call him a brother
in Christ. While I was in Reno and the surrounding areas, I placed a few signs (Virginia City) and briefly
attended an Indian Pow Wow. I met Roger Varela, founder of Gold Star Families of Nevada, Inc.
As I travel to
and fro, I have noticed that my campaign signs have been removed. Of all possible locations to remove a
sign, which is an illegal activity, my home town of Elko is my biggest problem.
As a side note of my trail, but
an absolute necessity, please enjoy the truth of our Constitution regarding the honest and legal duties of a United States
Senator at this link http://www.ginoforgovernor.com/images/state%20authority%20over%20us%20senators.pdf
Friday, July 16th
weekend – My wife and I spent 7 solid hours completing
questionnaires and correspondence. That is a typical week’s worth of correspondence that must be
done. Some questionnaires are very user friendly and some are very frustrating. Some
on-line questionnaires have poorly set up forms, missing or bad links, questions that are incomplete, grammatically incorrect,
or just plain illogical. It is annoying that the authors of these questionnaires are supposedly concerned
with educating the public about candidates and will be guiding voters or recommending candidates. More
misleading, confusing or ill prepared information is not what voters need. We also scheduled some candidate
events and then left for Pioche. Our total mileage, 722 miles, round trip included stops in Panaca, Caliante
and Carlin.
Upcoming Events – I will be in Las Vegas August 9th through 14th. I
will be participating in “Candidates Day”. The event is open to the public and I invite you
to come meet me and speak with me if you are in the area.
“Candidates
Day” Wednesday August 11, 2010
10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m
Clark County Government Center
500 South Grand Central Parkway
County Room (Rotunda), 1st
Floor
Friday, July 9th weekend - I have concluded another busy weekend of campaigning, posting of signs, filling
out questionnaires and talking with people. I started my weekend with an interview for The Voice of Independence
Radio Show with Frank MacKay and then worked attentively on a few national and state questionnaires.
I put 277 miles on my car dropping into Wendover to place a few campaign signs. On the return trip
to my home, I also placed a few signs along the way in several small towns to include a few more in Elko and Spring Creek.
Again, please,
if you have not already, visit the “Window Campaign” tab and download a flyer for your window.
Friday,
July 2nd weekend – Friday my wife and I caught
up on some correspondence to citizens and organizations, and continued our pursuit of a non-profit bulk mail permit.
We found a T-shirt shop in Elko, Smirks at 1003 Idaho Street, which prints advertisements on cloth. We
purchased some lettering that was applied to some flashy fluorescent safety vests we can wear as we visit new places.
We tried them out on the way to and in Reno where we began campaigning on Saturday. They were very
effective! Sunday we attended The Church www.thechurchatreno.com 1205 North McCarran Blvd. The members were very friendly and invited us to their July 4th potluck
fellowship luncheon where we were able to discuss politics with a few people. Our trip this weekend was
a total of 726 miles.
In summation of the weekend, if you are interested in reclaiming a voice for the people, then
you may help me by spreading the word about my candidacy and determination to help you.
Friday, June 25th
weekend – I was denied non-profit bulk mail status from
the United States Postal Service because I applied as a Nonpartisan candidate. The letter from the USPS
stated, “Based on the evidence submitted, it is our determination that Jesse Holland United States Senate Candidate
is not a state or national committee of a political party that is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the national
or state level.” I was under the assumption that nonpartisan was not “a party” by its
very definition. How would any candidate outside the party system be granted opportunities of bulk mailing?
I am able to appeal and will do so to prove that I indeed do run my day-to-day campaign activities. The
long and short of this situation came to an ironic end. I used Standard Bulk mail rate for 2065 letters
to churches in the state of Nevada. The cost, including the application and permit fees, totaled twenty
dollars more than it would have been to send the letters first class at forty four cents. I purchased a
stamp with my permit number on it and my wife and I stamped the letters and sent them Friday afternoon. Now
we will begin the appeal process with the USPS.
Friday, June 18th
weekend – Our volunteer campaign staff put together a letter
informing Nevada churches of their legal rights to voice truth in and around politics. The silent church
ought to again voice truth in their vote. The letter was a big project, yielding thousands of recipients
and should be mailed shortly. I believe we finally wrapped up the printing, stuffing, licking and sticking
shortly after midnight on Saturday. Sunday we attended a quality sermon on the need of our families to
appreciate quality fathers and once again teach our sons to be moral and secure fathers when they have families of their own.
The concept of quality fathers is not accepted in Hollywood as your TV shows, movies, commercials and general media
portray ‘fathers’ as klutzy, clueless and incompetent family figures.
Friday, June 11th weekend
– A few extra days of vacation allowed my wife and I to take care of
some personal business, visit our parents and continue to paint our house. We have the wonderful satisfaction
of having paid off our home last month, which makes the general maintenance and tender loving care even more gratifying.
The Primary Election has closed and the candidates
have been chosen for the General Election in November. We are looking forward to continuing to visit towns
and cities throughout Nevada, distributing information about my candidacy and putting up more campaign signs.
I am anticipating more meet the candidate events, forums and debates from now until October. I must
alert each reader to the simple factual notion that I am a candidate to vote for and not a candidate to
vote against as the two big parties would have you believe. How much more of the big party systems
are you willing to accept? They (both parties) are passing regulations that will alter every aspect of
your life. Had enough yet? Put your voice back into representation.
The hustle and bustle of the weekend
before the Primary Election is upon us. My cell phone has been constantly ringing with blast phone
messages from all the “top” candidates for United States Senate in Nevada. I guess they haven’t
concluded that I am a United States Senate Candidate myself. Even our local politicians got in on the action
as they called to endorse their favorite candidate. Money is flowing everywhere with a complete bombardment
of last minute sales pitches with promises and personal attacks on their opponents. If you have a radio,
or TV or phone, or cell phone you can’t get away from the hype. Is this what America has come to?
One candidate honestly asked what career politicians and convenient conservatives have in common as an attack on her
opponent. Ironically, she is both a career politician and a convenient conservative. Whose
add was it really? Their history, regardless the candidate, is proof enough of their position.
I am beyond insulted that one local politician actually is endorsing a candidate that is supposedly under investigation
by the FEC. Why? Are the politicians above the law? Enough…
Please stop giving law breakers your wallet and life. By the way, I already retain a spot on the
ballot come this November 2010 without the necessity to slander, insult, and ridicule or smear another human being.
Please do what is right and make your vote count by being informed. Entertain research and dig deeper
than the propaganda!
Friday, May 28th weekend – Most
importantly, this weekend was a time of reflection, thanks and honor for the people throughout the history of the United States
who have fought for the freedom that I enjoy. I cannot fathom the lose, sacrifice or dedication that so
many families, communities and whole generations have given to allow me to live in the most free, civilized, stable and comfortable
country on the planet. The United States, even in its struggles, lack, and confusion is the most revered
and sought after vision of freedom and safety in the world.
I reviewed and researched the local candidates for University Board of Regents, State Board of Education,
County Sheriff, School Board of Trustees District 1, District 6 and District 7 and Elko TV Board for early voting.
I added pages to the website. Take a minute and view the Publicity and Fees page and the additions
to the Correspondence page.
There
are several candidate pledges being circulated and signed. I have been researching them and though they
have good intensions, some of them are short sighted and restrict the necessary range to allow new or revised terms of operation.
The Americans for Tax Reform is an example of a pledge that binds representatives within existing systems.
To make equitable taxes for all United States citizens, a new or revised system must be created and established.
Just trying to fix a broken and flawed system will not enable the United States or its citizens to escape the financial
burden inherent within the current tax system.
Friday, May 21st weekend
– Actually this weekend began a day early. My wife and I took a day of vacation to allow us to attend
the Smoky Valley area “Candidates Night” forum Thursday evening at 6:00 at the Simpson Center in Hadley/Round
Mountain. Candidates for Nye County, including recorder, treasurer and sheriff were there as well as Mr.
Bill Parsons, one of the Republican candidates for United States Senate and Mr. Gino DiSimone www.GinoForGov.com , a nonpartisan candidate for Governor.
I am extremely impressed with Mr. DiSimone and urge you to review his website and meet him personally if possible.
Likewise I entreat you to review, Mr. Scott Cobel, a candidate for Nye County Sheriff http://www.pahrumpvalleytimes.com/2010/May-19-Wed-2010/news/35972783.html Both Mr. DiSimone and Mr. Cobel are born again Christians, just like me!
We heard from a Round Mountain resident that this is the first event of this kind.
He and I hope that there are many more election informational events to come and that, residents state and nation wide,
attend them. We traveled a total of 611 miles round trip.
