My name is Jesse Holland and I was born in the United States in 1969.  I am married to a beautiful and loving woman, Jill Holland.  My children are grown, have moved from the house and are attending college.

While growing up, my mother was adamant about fostering diversity in my knowledge.  I learned to sew, crochet, clean, do laundry, cut and color hair, play piano and drums, hunt, fish and maintain my own car.  I also completed many extra hours of study in reading and mathematics above the requirements of public school.  My mother encouraged critical thinking, listening and discussion even when I was a young child.  When I was a teen, my mother also bolstered my knowledge with an assortment of extra “school” books that she considered necessary.  This collection of books included the Bible, novels, geometry, calculus, grammar studies, language enhancements and electronics.  When I became a young man, I continued this pattern of scholarship and am able to state that I have indeed become a diverse, balanced and resourceful man.

I excelled in High School, graduating a year early and began college.  After three and one-half years of college, an Associates degree in Applied Science and the lack of funds to continue, I entered the work force in Elko, Nevada.  I still work at the same company I started with over twenty years ago.  I began employment with a mining company in June of 1989 and have called this my workplace ever since.  I currently work in the Metallurgical department for the Roaster project.

My wife, Jill, has worked for the same company as I for more than twenty years.  Together, we bring home a typical salary from our employer, with a common benefit package, which provides us a bright hope for the future.  I am not running for Senate for money, power, prestige or the “joy” of being abused by the political gauntlet.  I have heard the call echo from the voices of the vast lands of Nevada, begging for unassailable leadership.  The absence of a reliable voice that supports Nevada in Washington has weighed heavily upon my heart.  It is my desire to justly represent the State of Nevada that pushes me outside my safety net to answer the echoing call.

I do not come from a wealthy family with ties to generational money, nor was I born into a family classified as a ‘dynasty’ in America.  I do not have powerful affiliates that can influence my choices for Nevada by demanding that I “repay” obligations to them.  I do not own ranches that I do not ranch, houses that I do not live in or buildings I do not use.  I paint my own house, wash my own clothes and pay my own mortgage.  I have been working on xeriscaping my yard for a few years and have found joy in living in Spring Creek, Nevada.  I own a pick-up and a car that I drive.  I pull weeds from my property with my own two hands, as does any other typical Nevada homeowner.  The words that you read are from my mind and not from a group of activists or paid consultants.  The website you are viewing is designed, written and issued by me and not by a paid public relations team.  I support private property rights and stand firm in the belief that protecting those rights for every citizen is the best way to secure the future for our state that money can’t buy.

My sound philosophy stems from the truth that I inherited with acceptance of Jesus Christ.  I believe in God, and I am not Him.  I understand the implication of being classified as overly religious, but must uphold the simple truths of God.  I believe in the Bible and the Jesus Christ of the Bible.  I do not classify myself as religious as I do not practice acts for worldly satisfaction or the approval of men.  I play drums in a worship band every Sunday to provide a welcoming environment for those who come to celebrate God.  I attend Wednesday as well as Sunday evening Bible studies.  I also serve with a few friends to play classic hymns at an ‘old-folks’ home.  A highlight to my visits at the care center is my participation in the sermons to the people.  Attendance at these services is voluntary, and the bliss evident in the smiles of the aged while singing praises and hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ brings fulfillment to my heart.

I have spent more than forty years as a citizen of United States of America.  I have not been separated from the people, but rather abide by the same laws and regulations imposed upon the citizenry by our government.  I am with the people and openly for the people.  I have not hidden in a glass tower of political separation, but rather maintain a sincere grasp of the values important to real American living.

If you believe in allowing money to buy votes, then I am not your candidate.  If you believe that everything will pan out without speaking up as an individual for the interests of Nevada or the United States of America, then I am not your candidate.  If you believe that you and I can stand together, speak with a unified voice and serve the best interest for our state and country, then I am your candidate.  Let us build a team together to restore representation for Nevada in the Senate of the United States of America.
