My Dear Fellow Nevadans,

I can no longer stand in the background and watch as our government becomes an uncontrolled bureaucracy representing few, if any, average citizens of this great country.  Many politicians seek their own gain, not the best interests of our country.  Representing the interests of our state as a vital thread in the tapestry of fifty states is my promise to move in the right direction.

Does catering to special interests that bankroll election campaigns serve the best interest of the majority of a Senator’s constituency?  Voters often settle for a major party candidate, reasoning that they agree with 80% of that party’s platform, and resign themselves to compromise on the remaining 20% of the issues important to them.  Compromise on 20% of one’s positions is not acceptable if the compromise occurs on foundational principles.  It shocks me that the platforms of our two major parties claim to agree on many basic principles, such as limited government, fiscal responsibility, and the rule of law, while their recent records fail to demonstrate faithfulness to these platforms.  Are they using deceptive words to garner the trust of the masses?

One example is the promise both parties trumpet to deliver safe, dependable, affordable energy to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and lower the overall cost of our individual energy needs.  Yet they prohibit development of domestic oil, natural gas, and coal reserves, block construction of additional nuclear power plants, over-regulate all energy producers (even from alternative sources), and subsidize non-competitive energy sources.  Despite hollow promises, their actions have not relieved the strain on our personal pocket books, but have increased our overall energy costs.  How much longer will we let the same deceitful ring leaders run the show, and our lives?

Understand that you, the people, hold the power to direct the tide of the political ocean that sparkles before you.  Worthless seaweed is flourishing in stagnant waters polluted by corruption.  The time has come to put forward our nets and remove the waste that chokes out all other growth.  The time is now and I have heard your voices.  I have heard the agonizing cries of the citizens as they watch our glorious nation slide into the hopelessness of elitism by an ever-growing government that becomes less and less responsive to “We, the People.”  I too have longed for an honest voice to represent Nevada.  I will wait no longer, thus I step forward to make that voice heard.  Your collective votes and support will be the megaphone that makes Nevada a vocal force in redirecting our nation back onto the sure trail blazed by our wise founding fathers.

Please, don’t let the entrenched parties dictate your life and stifle your voice.  If you stand firm about anything, stand firm for the fact that you need representation “of the people, by the people, for the people.”  Let your vote supersede the opinions of the scholarly.  Let your vote surprise the pundits of both parties that sneer and laugh at Non-Partisan candidates.  Let your vote replace their sold-out agenda with a non-partisan representative that will answer to the people that elected him.  Let your vote rise as a shout that will finally be heard by all of America.  Let your vote tear down the wall of absurdity constructed to separate us from the truth.

Stand firm in your thinking and put your vote were your heart is; back onto solid ground where a conventional guy represents the people.  You have the power to crush the secret alliances between career politicians and lobbyists, party affiliates, wealthy contributors and organized special interests.  Should the whispers of one wealthy lobbyist be heard over the cry of ten thousand people?  I say that one wealthy lobbyist simply states a single opinion, and that the voices of over 2.6 million Nevadans are worth listening to.

It’s not my vote, it’s YOURS!
